About the event

Rola Z is a comedian, host and niche show producer based in DC. She has performed at DC Improv, the Kennedy Center, NYC Gotham Comedy Club, FunnyBone, DC Comedy Loft, and Montreal. She is the creator and host of Funny Arabs Show, which made its Kennedy Center debut in September. Fleeing war-torn Lebanon as a child, her journey from adversity to laughter has been nothing short of extraordinary. With a penchant for dark humor, bold topics, and intelligent material, Rola Z has carved a unique niche in the comedy landscape, challenging societal norms and pushing boundaries. Yasmin Elhady, our headliner, has toured all over the US & UK. She has performed at The Kennedy Center, DC Improv, and has been featured on NBC’s True Story with Ed Helms and Randall Park, now streaming on Peacock. She has also appeared locally on WUSA9 with Reese Waters, NPR, The Washington Post, and in Vice Media’s book “Little America: Incredible True Stories of Immigrants in America,” which was later turned into an Apple TV+ series by Kumail Nanjiani. Yasmin was named a 2022 ‘Yes, And…Laughter Lab’ finalist for Comedy and Social Justice.
