SYML
SYML
From his basement recording studio in the small town of Issaquah, WA outside Seattle, Brian Fennell wrote and recorded a collection of songs under the name Syml, which means simple in Welsh. Adopted and not knowing his history or connection to his Welsh roots, many of these songs were influenced by the complex feelings that come from unknown lineage.
Fleurie
Fleurie
With her ethereal vocals and intimate lyrics, Fleurie makes music that’s both otherworldly and rooted in raw emotion. Having made her debut as Fleurie with 2013’s Fear & Fable EP, the Nashville-based singer/songwriter otherwise known as Lauren Strahm has found her intensely cinematic brand of pop featured in a number of movies and TV shows over the past few years. A native of suburban Detroit, Strahm first discovered her love of music by singing in church and studying classical piano as a child, and in her mid-teens began writing and self-recording her own material. She brought her magnetic vocal presence to songs like “Hurts Like Hell”—a 2016 release that’s amassed over 20 million streams on Spotify—and delivered her full-length debut, Portals, in August 2018 which has charted in over 19 countries, play listed 40+ times across Spotify, Apple, Deezer and Youtube Music and has been performed for audiences across US, China, Japan, South Korea, Europe and the UK.
