Carter Lou & the Project
Carter Lou & the Project
Washington, D.C. based singer/songwriter Carter Louthian (Carter Lou) possesses a powerful raspy voice, with a weathered old soul that belies his young age. With Louthian's honest, impassioned voice, dynamically varied and musically talented band, and diverse variety of influences ranging from The Beatles to Jack White, Carter Lou & The Project delivers a new breed of Rock n' Roll spanning various genres. Not only are they intriguing sonically, but they are entertaining and exciting to watch first hand at one of their high-energy live performances. Since being formed in August 2014, Carter Lou & The Project went from playing small shows for friends and families, to selling out shows and recently headlined the world famous 9:30 Club. The band’s self-titled debut album, produced by Mark Williams (Sucker Punch Recording Co), and Rick Beato (Black Dog Sound Recording) was released 7/21/17.

Carter Lou & The Project is:
Carter Louthian, Drew Kerxton, James Britton, Doug Imhoff.

Better Homes
Better Homes
BETTER HOMES answers a question whose asking is long overdue: What comes out of a machine that’s installed in a guerilla style home recording studio and uses tales of heartbreak, layered vocal hooks, and eclectic soundscapes as fuel?

The answer is the band’s sophomore EP: Cardiosonus.

“The sound of Caridosonus is one that would not feel out of place to those on either side of the pop-punk spectrum. Pounding drums and driving guitar swell and fade at just the right times to enhance the natural reactions that these songs illicit. There is a surprising amount of variety packed into this EP, which means there is something for everyone – from guitar solos to gang vocals to an emotionally hard-hitting acoustic ballad. ” – Scott Fugger, 36vultures

“It’s [Cardiosonus] written about my feelings about my breakup with my boyfriend of 5 years. I was with him for so long and loved him, so I definitely had a lot to say on the subject. Even so, all of us connected and related to my pain and stories in our own ways which was helpful in writing. Going through a breakup is hard and horrible, but sometimes it can lead you to create beautiful things.” – Hayley Katarina. March 2017

The release of Cardiosouns has so far been a resounding success. The recorded garnered multiple reviews and playlist placements, and continued to build the band’s momentum as they played at top music venues around the Washington DC metro area, playing at venues like Jammin’ Java, Rock & Roll Hotel, and Milkboy Arthouse throughout 2017 and into 2018.

“You can tell that the band poured their heart into this album and you can’t help but to smile through the tears.” – Abbey Elliott, Aspire Presents Blog

Armed with DIY work ethic, the engineering talents of Aaron Sorge, the production guidance of Nick Sloane and more gear than early twenty-somethings should ever own, Better Homes plans on continuing to play live music for anyone that will listen, and releasing music until someone politely asks them to stop.
